The Winter School is aimed at PhD students at a German university or institute studying a degree relating to ecological sciences and is a coopeartion between the Ecological Society and the National Research Data Infrastructure Germany. It will be taking place in December 2022.

The emphasis of the Winter School is to teach data skills in the field of biodiversity research. We want to focus on current challenges in data management and to help you progress with your career in ecology. We want to introduce you to aspects and challenges in data handling. This will be guided by the data life cycle: Data Management Plan (DMP), data research, acquisition, integration, analysis and publication. and provide an experience that will enhance your opportunities to succeed. The Winter School will be administered online via digital platforms as a hybrid model, containing front-of-class teaching (lectures & workshops) as well as individual support.

Applications to apply as an PhD student will open in Spring.
